Georgetown University’s Latin American Board helped launch the newest Georgetown Alumni Club in the region. Ricardo Ernst, Director of the Global Business Initiative of the McDonough School of Business and Managing Director of the Latin American Board (LAB), traveled to Santo Domingo to attend the launch of Georgetown University’s alumni club in the Dominican Republic.
The event was organized by LAB member and Georgetown alumnus, Rolando Gonzalez-Bunster (C’68), and gathered about 40 proud Hoyas. Dr. Ernst’s visit was featured in El Caribe, one of the most important newspapers in the D.R., which highlighted the event and the university’s intention to draw in a greater number of Dominican students. The visit also included a meeting with former President, Leonel Fernández, in order to discuss ways in which Fernández’s foundation, Funglode, could potentially donate scholarships for prospective Dominican graduate students.
