Selection Process and Eligibility

Application Form

The application form consists of personal and academic information which must be given by the candidates, along with extracurricular activities and languages. Applicants must explain the reason for wanting to participate in the GCL Program and answer a series of additional questions. The Application Form also consists of an agreement to return to the candidate’s country of origin upon completion of the program for at least two years in order to apply lessons learned.

Admission Requirements

All candidates must comply with the following criteria:

  • Ibero-American country of origin
  • Ages 24 – 34
  • College degree from a national or foreign university
  • Proven English language skills, reading, writing and oral
  • Excellent academic record
  • Commitment to return to country of origin to apply knowledge obtained
  • At least one year of work experience

The corresponding sponsor and/or Georgetown University will name a Selection Committee in each country to determine the finalists, taking into consideration the following additional criteria:

  • Leadership potential
  • Candidate’s ability to build networks, share knowledge and become catalyst for change and innovation.
  • Resume
  • Academic record
  • Reasons for participation in the GCL Program expressed in the application form
  • Evaluation of answers to questions in the application form
  • Other merits

Application Submission

The Application form should be submitted online through the Latin American Board website, along with the following supporting documents:

  • Current Resume (Curriculum Vitae)
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Certified copy of Identification document
  • Certified copy of University diploma
  • Certified copy of any post graduate studies diploma
  • Certified copy of University transcripts
  • Proof of English competency for those whose native tongue is not English

Candidates must submit all the above-mentioned documents to be considered for acceptance.

NOTE: Candidates from Colombia, must submit applications through the Ardila Lulle Organization website

Important Dates

Deadline to submit application and supporting documents: October 7, 2011

Notification of selected candidates: November 18, 2011

Final Selection

The application process and selection in the country of origin of a candidate does not guarantee acceptance to Georgetown University. An Admissions Committee made up of professors and other administrators from the University will review the application forms and supporting documents of finalists and send an official acceptance letter to those candidates selected. This will end the selection process.
